How to Choose Between Studded and Non-Studded Tyres

When considering which winter tyres to choose, you need to think about the winter conditions of the location. If you come from a place where autumns are quite hard to predict, non-studded tyres will be the better choice of winter tyre to buy compared to studded tyres. Whether the roads get covered up in ice or snow, you will still be able to drive your vehicle. Once you mount them on your car during the cold season, you will not need to remove them until the season is over.

One of the things you should keep in mind when buying the right tyres for using on your vehicle in winter is that driving on ice is entirely different from driving on snow. If you come from a place where roads in winter tend mostly covered in snow than ice, you will be better off with non-studded tyres on your vehicle. The streets in most coastal areas tend to be icier, and as a result, studded tyres will be ideal for maintaining traction. However, if you come from a place that gets more snow than ice in winter, you should consider installing non-studded tyres on your vehicle.

The winter tyre that you will choose will determine the noise level of your ride. If you prefer a quieter ride and come from a place that experiences milder winter conditions, you should consider buying non-studded tyres. Even though studded tyres have seen a lot of improvement from what used to be studded tyres of the past, they are still somewhat noisier in areas where roads are not covered up in a lot of snow in winter.
